Debossed Bracelets

Debossed wristbands are more than mere bracelets. They're the accessories with a message. They make us aware of worthy causes. They display business logos, and make statements that are silly, smart and stimulate thought. If you thought those silicone bands were just fun jewelry, you were only partly right.

Debossed Wristbands -- When Simple Is Significant

Debossed wristbands are often thought of as simple. People fail to realize their full potential. It's easy to look at the boldly colored flexible bands and forget the business side of them. But when you realize that more than 80 million people have sported the bright yellow bands to support cancer awareness, you can see that they are highly effective marketing tools.

Debossed wristbands remind us that sometimes the simple things make a huge difference. Here are some examples that can improve your life.

Light stretching & movement -- Just a few minutes of movement throughout your day can actually save your life. Maybe you work in an office and spend lots of time stationary, though your fingers might get a great keyboard workout. The following research might seem a bit ominous then.

Physical inactivity is tied to a lengthy list of health problems and diseases, including obesity, heart disease, diabetes and cancer. According to the World Health Organization, being physically inactive is the fourth leading risk factor for death. The practice of sitting for extended periods has been shown to disrupt the body's metabolic functioning, and lead to increased triglyceride levels, decreased levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and decreased insulin sensitivity, said Dr. Hidde van der Ploeg, a senior research fellow of the University of Sydney's School of Public Health in Australia.

If you thought you could counteract the potential damage by bicycling to work, spending a few evenings at the gym, or taking early morning walks, think again. Those sweat sessions cannot save you from the damages of prolonged sitting. In fact, your sedentary actions can actually undo your workout entirely, according to a study in the Archives of Internal Medicine.

The good news is, there's a simple solution. It doesn't require hours of vigorous exercise or a membership to any fitness club. Taking a few minutes every hour to step away from your desk, perform some deep stretches, or even take a short walk to the coffee cart is sufficient. Dr. James Levine said that light muscle activity can trigger important processes needed to break down fats and sugars in the body.

Who knew your short attention span could serve you so well? If you have problems sitting for long periods, consider that an asset. Continue to indulge in short breaks for better overall health and the chance to live a longer life.

A Catnap-- So we just stressed the importance of regular movement, and now we're discussing naps. Both are important elements to incorporate into your day. The naps are a bit trickier and we're not suggesting you take them at work. Getting caught in the supply closet with a pillow and blanket is probably grounds for termination at most companies. You can take quick naps after work, on weekends, and whenever you need a pick-me-up.

Daytime naps are one way to treat sleep deprivation, said sleep expert Sara C. Mednick, Ph.D. A 15 to 20 minute siesta can reset your system and increase motor performance. A 20-minute nap has brain boosting benefits and is good for promoting alertness. Thirty minutes or more can enhance your decision-making skills and help with memory recall.
According to Mednik, short naps are what most people need to stave off sleepiness and boost energy.

Pet Therapy-- Most pet parents agree that pets can be troublemakers. Dogs feast on our shoes. They demand to be walked, fed and stroked. If you have a cat, you know that you're lucky just to be sharing a space with that worthy creature. And if you care well for your cat, he or she may reward you with some scraps of affection. But of course, that cat will decide when and how it happens.

Your dog, on the other hand, will immediately greet you at the door as you arrive home. He'll whimper, leap, tug at your clothing, and throw you his version of a ticker tape parade. All of this attention is good for your health.

A few minutes with a pet is proven to lower a person's blood pressure, relieve anxiety and reduce stress. Hormonal changes that occur when you enjoy your pet include a reduction of cortisol and an increase in the mood-enhancing chemical serotonin. Who knew that feeling better instantly was as easy as petting your pooch?

Like the above, debossed wristbands are simple things that can help bring big changes. Many businesses have recognized the power behind the bands. They buy them in bulk and give them away as fun freebies, or sell them to raise money for various causes. Direct Wristbands sells debossed wristbands at the lowest prices, so resale is a cinch for marketers. Click here for more on Debossed Colored Wristbands.
